JOSARDA At a Glance

JOSARDA (Junagadh Agricultural University Online System for Agricultural Research Data Analysis) is a web application designed to provide a seamless user interface for accessing the facilities of various agricultural research data analysis programs developed by Junagadh Agricultural University. This application supports a wide range of data analysis techniques, including data transformation, data analysis of various types of Experimental Designs such as CRD, RBD, FCRD, FRBD, LSD, Split Plot, Strip Plot, Regression Analysis, t-tests and a lot more type of data analysis. All these implemented through front end user interface and backend python scripts.

The system allows users to initiate data analysis requests based on their specific needs. Users can download sample Excel files, which help them structure their data correctly before analysis. Once the data is prepared in the required format, users upload the Excel file into the system. The uploaded file is processed according to the selected type of data analysis, where the system executes the corresponding Python script to generate the results.

After the analysis, the output is automatically formatted and generated as a PDF file. Users can then view the results, save them for future reference, or email the PDF directly from the application. Additionally, users have the option to download the result PDF to their local systems. JOSARDA simplifies complex data analysis tasks for researchers, farmers, and agricultural professionals by offering an accessible, automated, and efficient platform for processing agricultural research data.

In 18th meeting of combined Joint Agricultural Research Committee of SAUs of the Gujarat and Kamdhenu University, new technical programme entitled "Development of statistical analysis programme using Python machine learning and data visualization" was approved in May-2022 with an objective to develop user friendly programmes for statistical analysis of agriculture research data. (Proceeding of the Meeting Item No. 18.9.3.4)

This project was conducted by Department of Agricultural Statistics, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh during the year 2022-23 and 2023-24. Prof. A. P. Prajapati, Principal Investigator and Assistant Professor (IT in Agriculture) developed the computer programs using python machine learning and data visualization techniques for data analysis of various experimental designs, regression analysis, t-tests, data transformation etc. under the statistical guidance of Dr. D. V. Patel, Professor & Head and Dr. M. S. Shitap, Assistant Professor. Overall statistical analysis of 50 types of agricultural research experiments are covered under this project.

As the outcomes of this project, following scientific recommendation was approved by 20th meeting of combined Joint Agricultural Research Committee of SAUs of the Gujarat and Kamdhenu University held in June-2024 (Proceeding of the Meeting Item No. 20.7.2.16).

The scientists/researchers of SAUs are recommended to use new computer programs developed by the Junagadh Agricultural University which are requirement specific, unique, user friendly with the important features of descriptive auto conclusion and auto data visualization for Individual, pooled, control vs rest CRD, RBD, FCRD and FRBD analysis respectively, simple linear, multiple linear and polynomial regression as well as one, two and pair sample T tests.

The important features of new developed programmes using the Python Machine Learning and Data Visualization techniques are as given below.

Unique: This statistical analysis programs are totally requirement specific and developed looking to requirements of the researcher of SAUs of the Gujarat. Particularly, statistical analysis programs for CRD and RBD factorial experiments of control verses rest treatments for individual and pooled are not available in any statistical analysis software.
User friendly: Just upload the data in prescribed format of excel worksheet and download the output results in PDF format.
Auto Conclusion: Atomization of the conclusion is very smart feature of these programmes which one is helpful for easy explanation and interpretation of the result.
Data visualization: Based on the data and numeric results, some useful charts are automatically prepared. These graphical reports are very useful for decision making and easy comparison of the various treatments.
